Description

Nebular Crush is an upcoming arcade shoot'em up with a unique quirky aesthetic. Game play combines the frantic action of classic 2D shoot'em ups with the more cerebral puzzle elements of platformers. Inspired by 80s and 90s arcade games, Nebular Crush is easy to learn but difficult to master, appealing to both casual and hardcore gamers alike.

History

Nebular Crush is the brainchild of brothers Tom and Konrad, who developed it in their spare time over several years. The game was originally conceived as an interactive installation to be projected at music venues during concerts. Since the game was meant to be played in a dark crowded venue, with total strangers teaming up in two-player co-op, it had to be very accessible and intuitive.
It was decided that it would use simple 80's arcade mechanics with as few controls as possible. To add to the challenge of the game, the graphics were designed to be mesmerizing and overwhelming at times. Overtime the game outgrew its sideshow status and took on a life of its own, expanding in scope and complexity.
